Glan Y Gors
Dragon2

Yes I know it’s called Glan Gors, but the word Cors has been mutated by Y, the mutated form is Gors so in reality it is really called Glan Y Gors :-)

Glan Gors was built in 1974, it was predominantly built as holiday homes but many people now live here as residents like me.

Harlech loves to hate Glan Y Gors but that’s their loss, it is really a lovely place at really great prices. My place is an upstairs maisonette, it has a 3 bedroom footprint with the kitchen in the third bedroom, many of the properties were built with the open plan of the kitchen, sitting room and dinning room as one open space. I prefer a seperate kitchen even if if that means it’s a bit smaller, the sitting room dinner is much larger with this layout.

The Residents Association and Management Company are in a bit of disarray, though I was involved in getting the new committee of the ground I’m not necessarily a fan of the way they do things. As an update I can add that the committee handed things back to Purpose Properties Ltd without discussion with the leaseholders, not a great outcome and bodes ill for the future of the estate.

There is no reason why things should not at least run more smoothly even if the estate never actually becomes what it could have been.

Each property comes with it’s own parking space, I would recommend that you check your lease and land registry documents to identify which space is yours as others may well have adopted your space as their own if it suits them. When there is a Bank Holiday or it’s a Summer Weekend then the estate tends to fill up with visitors, mind you so does the whole of Harlech, it’s a tourist town.
